I'm getting suspicious of what we're seeing here in the weekend before the launch. Perhaps you are far more likely to find these timid folks on Reddit, I don't know as I don't go there or Facebook or Instagram or any of these places where like-minded people congregate to take pleasure from downvoting and beliittling the expressed viewpoints and pastimes of the "other side", the sought after reward - validation being the Likes you receive from your tribe.īut it seems to me that there are a lot of folks here for whom these reviews are useful in informing their purchase because their grown-ass adults who have developed good judgement and accept responsibility for their own decisions. They need somebody to tell them that they're doing the right thing, whether it be some game journalist who thinks the game is an 8-10 or a forum poster whose posts resonate with your own viewpoint. If people NEED game journalism to tell them what to think and to buy, that is very sad and I have no doubt that there are a few sad souls out there who are incapable of making a responsible puchase decision by themselves. To no ones surprise, or at the very least not mine, got downvoted hard because the AOW4 sub is chalk full fanboy sheep. And I certainly didn't need the joke that is game journalism telling me what to like or dislike.
